The Tobruk Gas Power Plant is 1,420MW dual-fuel fired power project. It is planned in Butnan, Libya. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2021.

Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by General Electric Company of Libya.
It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant will run on Distillate Fuel Oil. The fuel will be procured from National Oil Corporation (NOC).
Development Status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2021.

Tobruk Gas Power Plant (Tobruk Gas Power Plant Gas Turbine I) will be equipped with GE Power GT13E2 gas turbine. The phase consists of 1 gas turbine with 180MW nameplate capacity.
Tobruk Gas Power Plant (Tobruk Gas Power Plant Gas Turbine II) will be equipped with GE Power GT13E2 gas turbine. The phase consists of 1 gas turbine with 180MW nameplate capacity.
Tobruk Gas Power Plant (Tobruk Gas Power Plant Gas Turbine III) will be equipped with GE Power GT13E2 gas turbine. The phase consists of 1 gas turbine with 180MW nameplate capacity.
Tobruk Gas Power Plant (Tobruk Gas Power Plant Gas Turbine IV) will be equipped with GE Power GT13E2 gas turbine. The phase consists of 1 gas turbine with 180MW nameplate capacity.
General Electric Company of Libya is expected to perform operations and maintenance for thermal power project.
