Description

The project is currently owned by Hydro-Electric.

Tungatinah is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 26.42 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 290m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 5 in number. Tungatinah underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2010.

Contractors Involved

GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 5 units of francis turbines, each with 25MW nameplate capacity.

GE Renewable Energy supplied 5 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 31.25 MVA.
