Upper Arun is a 1,061MW hydro power project. It is planned on Arun river/basin in Koshi, Nepal. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2021 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2026.

Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Upper Arun Hydro Electric.

Upper Arun is a run-of-river project. The net head of the project will be 492m. The penstock length will be 60m. The penstock diameter will be 2.8m. The project cost is expected to be around $479m.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.
