The project is currently owned by Andhra Pradesh Power Generation with a stake of 100%.
Upper Sileru is a pumped storage project. The net head of the project is 92.58m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 9 in number. The penstock length is 382.7m. The penstock diameter is 6m. The project generated 575 GWh of electricity.
