The project is developed and owned by Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development.
Upper Sindh is a run-of-river with pondage project. The project generated 453 GWh of electricity.

Contractors Involved
Upper Sindh (Upper Sindh Phase I) is equipped with Bharat Heavy Electricals francis turbines. The phase consists of 2 turbines with 11.3MW nameplate capacity.
Upper Sindh (Upper Sindh Phase II) is equipped with Bharat Heavy Electricals francis turbines. The phase consists of 3 turbines with 35MW nameplate capacity.
The electric generators for the project were procured from Bharat Heavy Electricals.
