The project is developed and owned by Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower.

Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project (UTKHEP) is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 822m and 805m respectively. The penstock length is 1,134m. The project generated 2,281 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $592.68m.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Nepal Electricity Authority under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

Andritz Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 6 units of pelton turbines, each with 76MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz Hydro supplied 6 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 90 MVA.
