The project is being developed and currently owned by THDC India and Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency. The company’s ownership stake in the project stands as 26% respectively.

Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) is a producer and supplier of renewable energy for the state of Uttar Pradesh. The agency generates solar energy from various solar energy generation plants; biomass based electricity from rice husk and sugar mills, and hydro electricity in collaboration with small scale private investors. It conducts various programs, which include biomass based power projects, small hydro power, wind energy, solar energy, micro hydrogel, energy conservation, village electrification, rec mechanism, decentralized distribution generation. UPNEDA operates a training center located in Kannauj district to provides training regarding installation, operation, maintenance and servicing of projects based on renewable energy sources. The agency also offers services including right to information, citizen center, complaints and grievances. UPNEDA is headquartered in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India
