Veja Mate, Germany

Veja Mate is a 402MW offshore wind power project. The project is located in North Sea, Germany. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in May 2017.

Description

The project was developed by Veja Mate Offshore Project. The project is currently owned by Commerz Real with a stake of 25%, INGKA Holding with a stake of 25%, Siemens Project Ventures with a stake of 20%, KGAL and Wpd Invest.

The wind turbines in the project are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the project.

The project generates 1,600,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 400,000 households, offsetting 950,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $2,006.04m.

The turbines installed on the project are using Tubular Steel towers.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in May 2017.

Contractors Involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 67 units of SWT-6.0-154 turbines, each with 6MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2017, for a period of 15 years.
