Description
The project was developed by Song Da. The project is currently owned by Refrigeration Electrical Engineering with a stake of 49.5% and Vietnam Electricity.
Vinh Son is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 102 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 88m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 2 in number. The project generated 230 GWh of electricity.

Contractors Involved
GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of pelton turbines, each with 33MW nameplate capacity.
