Description

The project is currently owned by State Grid Xinyuan.

Xin’anjiang is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 17,840 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 73m. The project generated 1,860 GWh of electricity.

The hydro power project consists of 4 turbines, each with 75MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 1957 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1960.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to State Grid Corporation of China under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

Harbin Electric Machinery was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 5 units of francis turbines, each with 72.5MW nameplate capacity.
