Yacyreta-Paraguay is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 21,000 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 22m. The project generated 10,000 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $550m.

Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 10 units of kaplan turbines, each with 155MW nameplate capacity.
