Contractors Involved

GE Power and Steinmuller Engineering were selected to render EPC services for the oil fired power project.

The Oil fired project have been supplied by Ansaldo Energia and GE Power.

Marelli Motori supplied electric generator for the Zouk Thermal Power Plant (Zouk Thermal Power Plant Unit I).

Marelli Motori supplied electric generator for the Zouk Thermal Power Plant (Zouk Thermal Power Plant Unit II).

Marelli Motori supplied electric generator for the Zouk Thermal Power Plant (Zouk Thermal Power Plant Unit III).

GE Power supplied electric generator for the Zouk Thermal Power Plant (Zouk Thermal Power Plant Unit IV).

The steam boilers for the oil fired power project have been supplied bySchelde Breda boilers and Steinmuller Engineering.

About Electricite du Liban

Electricite du Liban (EDL) is a state-owned integrated energy utility. It conducts electricity generation, transmission and distribution. The company controls majority of the electricity infrastructure in Lebanon. EDL generates electricity from thermal and hydraulic power plants. It operates several thermal power plants, including Zouk, Jieh, Sour, Baalback, Zahrani, Deir-Ammar, and Al Hreesha. It procures electricity generated by Litani River Authority (LRA) and other hydroelectric power plants, Nahr Ibrahim and Al Bared. The company also imports electricity from Egypt and Syria. It also provides electricity to distribution concessions in Zahle, Jbeil, and Bhamdoun. Its operations are monitored by Ministry of Energy and Water (MOEW). EDL is headquartered in Beirut, Lebanon.
