The solar power plant project is a pivotal step in enhancing Bahrain’s sustainable energy infrastructure.

It also aims to foster greater collaboration with the private sector, increasing the renewable energy share in the national energy mix.

The solar facility, spanning 1.2 square kilometres, will be situated near Bilaj Al Jazayer in southern Bahrain.

It will feature advanced solar technology to meet the Kingdom’s escalating energy demands and ensure long-term energy security.

The plant is expected to supply electricity to 6,300 homes, contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions by more than 100,000t per year.

This aligns with Bahrain’s sustainability objectives and supports the development of future infrastructure.
