US-based solar photovoltaic project developer Belltown Power Texas is set to begin construction of three solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects in Texas.

With a combined capacity of 330MWdc, the three solar projects are located in Electric Reliability Council of Texas’s (ERCOT) north zone and are expected to be completed between December 2020 and March 2021.

Belltown co-founder and president Lloyd Pope said: “This represents a key milestone for the Belltown portfolio, having developed these projects from greenfield all the way to NTP.

“We are pleased with the partner we have found to bring these projects forward to COD and beyond and we look forward to completing more transactions like this one.”

Belltown stated that it recently completed a transaction with an investment partner for these shovel-ready solar PV projects.

The solar projects comprise an 81MWDC Kellam site in Van Zandt County and 168MWDC Coniglio site in Fannin County. The energy generated by the two solar power facilities will be supplied to Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative.

The 81MWDC Rippey site, which is the third solar power farm located in Cooke County, has been contracted by an affiliate of Vistra Energy to offtake 100% of clean energy generated by the facility.

Belltown co-founder Jeff Clay said: “We are excited to have completed this transaction and continue to work hard on growing our portfolio of +2GW of solar projects, which we intend to deliver over the next three to five years.”
