Silfab Solar plans to make a direct investment of $40m in Itek’s facility in Bellingham, Washington, in order to expand its manufacturing operations in the US.
The investment will be a part of Silfab Solar’s strategy to meet the growing demand for its solar panels in the US.

Silfab intends to integrate its automation technology with Itek’s facility and add a second manufacturing line to double-photovoltaic (PV) module production capacity through the transaction.
Based in Canada, Silfab Solar is engaged in the manufacture of PV modules, while Itek is a US-based manufacturer of solar PV modules.
Canadian Solar has entered a joint venture with ET Energy to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for two of BioTherm Energy’s solar projects.
