Doosan Škoda Power has secured a contract to deliver two steam turbine generators for a new power plant in Peru.

The power plant will be built at an oil refinery, which will be operated by Peruvian state-owned petroleum company Petroperú. It is part of the Talara Refinery Modernisation (TRM) project.

Doosan Škoda Power will supply two DST-G20 controlled-extraction turbines, which have a capacity of 55MW. They are designed to bear the demanding industrial environmental conditions and are capable of ensuring the refinery’s safe and reliable operation.

Design and manufacture of the turbines including the generator will be performed in the production plant in Pilsen, Czech Republic.

Following the completion of production, the equipment will be supplied to the EPC contractor Cobra Peru. Additionally, Doosan Škoda Power has agreed to provide technical assistance during assembly and commissioning. The power plant will be commissioned at the end of 2019.

Doosan Škoda Power Latin America sales manager David Zeman said: “Thanks to the excellent operating capacity of our turbines in Mexico, Columbia and Chile we are a trustworthy partner for Petroperú and we are proud to contribute to the development of the energy industry in Peru.

“So far, it is our largest installation in the Latin American power plant industry. This affirms the great reputation and technological advancement of steam turbines manufactured by Doosan Škoda Power. Again, we have proven our ability to supply high-tech turnkey products that are competitive on a global level.”
