Florida Power & Light (FPL) has commissioned four out of eight planned solar plants across the state.
Featuring a combined total of more than one million solar panels, the FPL Horizon Solar Energy Center, FPL Coral Farms Solar Energy Center, FPL Indian River Solar Energy Center and FPL Wildflower Solar Energy Center are expected to be in service by 1 March this year.

The remaining plants will be called FPL Barefoot Bay Solar Energy Center, FPL Blue Cypress Solar Energy Center, FPL Hammock Solar Energy Center and FPL Loggerhead Solar Energy Center.
Each of the eight plants will have a renewable electricity generating capacity of 74.5MW, which totals around 600MW.
FPL president and CEO Eric Silagy said: “The truth is progress like this doesn’t happen by accident. It’s because of our culture of responsible innovation and an unwavering commitment to customers that we’re able to deliver cleaner, more reliable energy while keeping electric bills among the lowest in the country.”
