This venture is the fourth project by GameChange Solar in Egypt, increasing its total capacity in the region to more than 3GWp.
Hassan Allam Constructions managing director Engg Hany Fayed said: “Benban continues to be one of the most strategic solar developments in the region, and projects of this scale require disciplined planning, predictable timelines and strong coordination across all partners.
“Our focus is on ensuring seamless execution, and we value partners who match that pace with the right technical inputs.
“GameChange Solar has demonstrated the responsiveness and technical engagement needed for this project, and we look forward to steady progress as we enter the next stage of construction.”

By GlobalDataGameChange Solar said it was chosen for this project due to its proven track record in Egypt, regional support capabilities and capacity to deliver within tight schedules.
The project will utilise the company’s 1R × 4-string tracker design, tailored for the specific landscape and civil needs of the site.
GameChange Solar India, MENA and CIS business development vice-president Anirudha Sharma said: “Working with Infinity Power and Hassan Allam on this project is an important milestone in our regional journey.
“Our systems are engineered for the high-heat and high-dust conditions common across the Middle East and North Africa [MENA], and our teams have steadily expanded their on-ground capability to support fast-moving utility-scale programmes.
“The MENA region is a strategic priority for GameChange Solar, and with this order, our cumulative capacity in the region rises to 6.7GWp, reflecting the trust placed in our technology and our execution.”
Benban is recognised as one of the largest solar hubs in the area and requires technology capable of withstanding high temperatures and dusty conditions.
Additionally, the Benban Solar Plant will feature a combination of 200MW of solar power generation and a 120 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery energy storage system, forming a hybrid renewable energy facility.
The project aligns with Egypt’s national plan to raise the proportion of renewable energy to 42% by 2030 and further increase it to 65% by 2040.
In July 2025, GameChange Solar signed a contract with CEEC-ZTPC to deliver its Genius Tracker 1P Single Row system for the Abydos solar photovoltaic plant – Phase II in Egypt.
