Renewable energy company Zelestra has announced the commencement of full commercial operations at its 435 megawatts direct current (MWdc) Gorbea solar project in Rajasthan, India.
Completed in less than eight months, this project was made possible through a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

The Gorbea project is expected to produce 755 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean energy each year, enough to power 128,000 households in India.
Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi praised the project for contributing to India’s renewable energy production and supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Harit Kranti (“Green Revolution”) initiative.
Prioritising community benefits from this development, Minister Joshi directed that employment opportunities generated by the project should be offered primarily to local youth.

Zelestra, with a robust pipeline including 5.4GW multi-technology projects across India, already has 1.7GW contracted with customers.
In early July 2025, the company secured an additional €235m ($277m) for its sustainability-linked loan, increasing the total to €770m ($907m). The company plans to use these funds to develop new wind farms, solar installations and battery storage systems.
