Hindustan Power has agreed to supply clean energy to India’s Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) from a 435MW direct current solar photovoltaic (PV) project.
The clean power will be supplied for 25 years from the project, which is to be established in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
The initiative is a crucial step towards the state’s ambitious goal of reaching 22,000MW of renewable energy capacity by 2026/27.
The project was awarded to Hindustan Power in April 2025 following a competitive bidding process.
Hindustan Power has already commenced on-ground operations, which include the establishment of a site office, coordination with stakeholders, mobilisation of the workforce and development of the site.
In addition to bolstering the state’s renewable energy capabilities, the project will generate employment opportunities and stimulate economic activity within the local community.
