HydroWing Tidal Energy Projects, part of Inyanga Marine Energy Group, has been awarded an additional 10MW of capacity for its Ynni’r Lleuad Project at Morlais in Wales under the UK Government’s Allocation Round 7a Contracts for Difference awards.
The award adds to the 20MW secured through earlier funding rounds and currently under development. The company said the new capacity advances plans to expand tidal energy deployment in Anglesey.
Phase three of the project is scheduled for delivery in 2030 and is expected to make the HydroWing Morlais Project the largest tidal energy development globally. Once completed, it will deploy 18 HydroWing HW3 tidal energy devices, each with a capacity of 1.67MW.

The first HydroWing device is scheduled to be deployed at Morlais in 2027 as part of phase 1A.
