China-based photovoltaic products manufacturer JA Solar has secured a supply contract for a 110MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Kansai, Japan.
Under the contract, JA Solar will provide its Mono PERC MBB modules for the facility, which it says is the country’s largest single PV project to date.

The solar power facility will produce 150GWh of electricity per year and will be linked to the grid in March 2022. The plant is expected to lower annual carbon emissions by 50,000 tonnes.
JA Solar board of directors chairman and CEO Jin Baofang said: “As a country with a mature photovoltaic industry, Japanese customers have higher requirements for the quality and efficiency of solar products.
“Over the past nine years, JA Solar’s products have maintained high recognition in the Japanese market, thanks to their superior quality and performance.
“Looking forward, we will continue to develop high-efficiency PV technologies to provide our global customers with better products.”

It has supplied mono-solar and multi-solar products since 2011.
