JA Solar has been selected to provide high-performance DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules for the Korlat solar photovoltaic project (SPP) in Croatia.
The project is under construction, with operations scheduled to commence in 2026 when it will become the nation’s largest solar power plant.

The Korlat SPP is part of the larger Korlat energy park in the Ravni Kotari region of northern Dalmatia, 1km northeast of Korlat village and 7km northwest of Benkovac.
It is a collaborative development between China Northern International Group and Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute.
The Korlat SPP project entails the construction of a solar power facility on a site that encompasses the existing Korlat wind farm and covers 150 hectares.
The solar installation will feature PV panels with a planned capacity of 99 megawatts peak (MWp), along with the necessary infrastructure to connect to the 110kV transmission grid via the existing TS 33/110kV Korlat substation.

The planned connection capacity for SPP Korlat at the grid threshold is 75MW.
The project is supported with funding provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
This initiative represents a significant advancement in Croatia’s renewable energy strategy, with ambitions to achieve 88% renewable electricity generation by 2050.
The Korlat SPP will produce around 165 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually, sufficient to supply 50,000 households and contribute towards reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 150,000t per year.
