Japan’s Kawasaki Heavy Industries has received an order for 100MW class combined cycle power plant (CCPP) from Kashima South Joint Power Corporation (KSJPC).
KSJPC operates the Kashima South Joint Power Station, which is the energy centre for Kashima Eastern Industrial Complex that supplies electricity and steam to surrounding factories.

The power plant will feature the L30A model 30MW class gas turbine, which has been developed by Kawasaki.
As per the terms of the full turnkey contract, Kawasaki will perform the overall design of the plant, supply and installation of gas turbines, a steam turbine and heat recovery steam generators, as well as civil engineering construction.
The 107MW output CCPP will be constructed in Kamisu City, Ibaraki.
The facility will feature three L30A gas turbines, three heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine.

By GlobalDataAdditionally, CCPP will be equipped with a system that functions as a cogeneration facility and supplies electricity and steam as per the demand from surrounding factories.
The power plant is slated to commence its operations in 2020.
In April this year, Kawasaki carried out reorganisation and combined its divisions, which works on energy system development, design, and manufacture with the plant engineering division to enhance energy-related business and promote synergy effects.
The company said that the demand for the electrical power consumption worldwide is expected to increase in the coming years, especially in Southeast Asia.
This global consumption in turn is increasing the demand for high-efficiency gas-fired thermal power plants, according to the company.
