The Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO) has awarded three contracts to Alstom T&D India to help strengthen grid infrastructure in the state.

Under the contract, valued at €30m (INR2, 400m), Alstom will supply three air-insulated substations to the state of Tamil Nadu to establish a reliable grid.

The scope of the contract includes establishing a 400 / 230 / 100kV air-insulated substation at Rasipalayam, connecting Tamil Nadu’s transmission network to the national grid, and two 230 / 110kV air-insulated substations each in Vyasarpadi and the Omega industrial estate, both near Chennai.

Alstom will supply 62 air-insulated bays, two power transformers, eight auto-transformers and other equipment, from its manufacturing facilities across the country.
