Indian government-owned power plant equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has commissioned a 250MW thermal power plant in Maharashtra.
The plant has been established at the Parli Thermal Power Station (TPS), which is in Parli Vaijnath in the Beed district of Marathwada. It is owned by Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (Mahagenco) and is the eighth coal-based facility installed by BHEL at Parli TPS.

BHEL also comissioned generating units, which were also installed at Parli TPS. They have a total capacity of 210/250MW.
Operational since 1980s, thermal projects at the power station were commissioned under the expansion programme of Mahagenco.
BHEL has contributed more than 10,000MW of power generation capacity in the state government sector of Maharashtra, which accounts for nearly 75% of the company’s installed power generating capacity.
