Danish steel contractor Bladt Industries has secured an order from Netherlands-based offshore contractor Seaway Heavy Lifting to provide 30 jacket foundations for the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm in the Outer Moray Firth, Scotland.
Bladt Industries will carry out the fabrication of the 30 four-legged jackets for the windfarm at its production facilities in Lindoe Industrial Park, Denmark.

With a height of up to 71m and weighing up to nearly 830t, the jacket foundations will be much larger than previous similar structures fabricated at the company’s Denmark facilities.
The jackets structures will have a footprint of 24m x 24m and are designed to be deployed in water depths of 47m.
Bladt Industries chief executive officer Jan Kjærsgaard said: "This new contract is very important for us in securing the serial production of jacket foundations at our facilities on Lindoe Industrial Park, and fabrication of the jacket structures will build on our strong track record from previous projects.
"We are very pleased with this order, and we see it as an opportunity to continue our journey towards an optimal jacket serial production and making jackets a sustainable foundation for future offshore windfarms."

By GlobalDataFabrication of the Beatrice offshore wind project is slated to begin in the third quarter this year, while the first jacket foundations are estimated to be delivered in the same quarter of next year.
The Beatrice Offshore Windfarm is located 13.5km off the coast in the Scottish part of the North Sea, and will comprise 84 turbines with a total capacity of 588MW.
