China Wind Power International (CWPI) has begun construction on the 198MW phase III wind energy development project in Heilongjiang Province, China.

The project will be equipped with four wind turbines of 49.5MW each and the company has begun the foundation work for the project.

Construction of the facility is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2012.

Upon completion, the plant will be capable of generating about 400 million kilowatt hours or energy a year.
