French gas utility Gaz reseau Distribution France (GrDF), has selected Elster to establish five biogas injection stations across France.

Under the terms of the two-year agreement, the stations will measure the quality of biogas and inject it into GrDF’s natural gas gridafter it has been processed by the producer through purification stations.

The Elster stations will allow GrDF to check the precise volume and quality of biomethane it injects into the grid.

The first station is scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2012. GrDF is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GDF Suez.
