China-based ET Solar Group has installed 600kW of PV modules for several rooftop energy systems in Newcastle in the UK.
The systems were installed on 30 commercial rooftops of Your Homes Newcastle (YHN), an entity that manages properties on behalf of Newcastle City Council (NCC). The project was designed and installed by OPUS Green, a UK commercial project developer, focusing on renewable energy solutions;connection to the grid commenced in October 2011.

YHN chief executive John Lee said is an example of a council taking a proactive approach to reducing its carbon footprint. "It is one of the first large commercial solar schemes in the region to benefit local residents for a clean source of energy and a better environment it offers," said Lee.
ET Solar CEO Dennis She added that the company was pleased to establish business relationship with OPUS Green and supply PV modules for NCC’s solar project. "The collaboration demonstrates our continued commitment to expand the role that we play in facilitating UK PV market growth," he said..
