Spain-based Gamesa has received new contracts to deliver 220MW of its turbines for five wind farms in India.
Under the agreements, awarded by three independent power firms, Gamesa will install 110 G97-2MW turbines at five wind farms in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Karnataka.

The contracts also include long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) provisions.
Scheduled to be delivered in March 2015, the wind turbines will be manufactured at Gamesa’s local factories.
Gamesa chairman and managing director in India Ramesh Kymal said: "These valuable orders from independent power producers prove our expertise and clearly signify our strong market standing in [the] Indian wind industry."
Gamesa has installed more than 1.1GW in India and manages capacity of over 850MW under O&M deals in the country. India accounted for 33% of Gamesa’s sales in the first quarter of this year.

By GlobalDataGamesa recently secured 290MW of wind turbine orders in the US and Mexico.
The company has agreed to supply 95 G114-2MW turbines to EDP Renovaveis (EDPR) for its Waverly wind farm in Coffey County, Kansas, US, with deliveries expected in the third quarter of 2015 and commissioning by the end of the same year.
Gamesa will also supply 50 G97-2MW turbines to a wind farm, which is being developed by a large utility in Mexico, in the first quarter of 2015. It is expected to be commissioned by the end of the same year.
