Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited interested parties to purchase 3GW of solar power which will be generated by 2017-2018.

The firms are expected to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI) and relevant details by 17 June this year.

SECI intends to deliver around 1GW of solar energy for each year on an average over the next three years.

The selected parties will be supplied power under 25-year power purchase agreements, for which they will have to sign the deals with either SECI or respective project developers.

SECI, which works under the Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), is expecting EOIs from state utilities and distribution companies (discoms) that are trying to boost their capacity and meet the domestic Renewable Power Obligations (RPO).

Large industrial and commercial organisations with bulk power demands and power trading entities, interested in increasing their green energy portfolio, are expected to be among the beneficiaries as well.
