Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) has received an order to deliver two sets of steam turbines and generators for the 900MW Limay Plant in the Philippines, which is to be constructed by San Miguel Corporation (SMC).

The ordered equipment will be installed at units 3 and 4 of the 900MW coal-fired power station, which is situated in Bataan Province in the south-western area of Luzon Island.

MHPS is expected to deliver the order in April and July 2016.

"The Limay plant is expected to meet energy requirements in and around Manila."

Under the deal, the power firm will also be providing technical advisory services for installation and commissioning of the equipment. Once operational, the Limay plant is expected to meet energy requirements in and around Manila.

MHPS has also delivered steam turbines and generators for units 1 and 2 of the facility to the Taiwanese firm Formosa Heavy Industries (FHI), which is responsible for EP (engineering and procurement) at the plant.

As well as handling the orders for four units at the six-unit Limay power station, MHPS was also been awarded another order in 2013 by SMC.
