Powering Australian Renewables Fund (PARF) has chosen Jacobs Engineering Group to perform project management and engineering for a planned 200MW windfarm in Silverton, Western New South Wales.

To be built with an investment of $356m, the Silverton windfarm will be able to generate around 780,000MWh of renewable energy annually, which is enough to power more than 137,000 homes.

Announced in January this year, the facility will be developed by GE and civil engineering construction company CATCON. Once completed, it will be the sixth largest windfarm in Australia.

"The Silverton windfarm will be able to generate around 780,000MWh of renewable energy annually."

Jacobs Engineering Group senior vice-president Patrick Hill said: “This project builds on the support we have provided AGL in the renewables market, delivering two of Australia’s largest solarpower plants at Nyngan and Broken Hill.

“Jacobs will provide leading edge project management capabilities combined with our engineering skills to help AGL deliver this landmark project.”

PARF has developed around 1,000MW of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure assets and projects.
