Rolls-Royce, the UK-based power systems provider, has signed a $22m contract to deliver eight Bergen B32:40 16V reciprocating engine generator sets to Baraka Patenga Power (BPP).
The engines will supply power to BPPL’s 50MW power plant currently under construction at Patenga, 14km south of the port city of Chittagong, in south-eastern Bangladesh.

The facility will supply electricity to the national grid.
BPP is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bangladeshi power generation company, Barakatullah Electro Dynamics, in which it has a 51% stake.
