Russia’s Rosatom State Atomic Energy has signed a new co-operation programme for 2017-2019 with French energy group Engie.

The programme will focus on more than 20 projects in the fields of nuclear power plant (NPP) maintenance, electric energy supplies, and nuclear fuel cycle services.

It has also identified projects in various fields including windpower and other areas of mutual interest.

“Rosatom and Engieboth have broadened the range of cooperation in nuclear energy including maintenance and engineering projects.”

In addition, the programme seeks to implement a memorandum of understanding (MoU) concluded by both Rosatom and Engiein May last year.

Rosatom’s corporate development and international business first deputy chief executive officer (CEO) Kirill Komarov said: “Based on the traditional long-term cooperation in the nuclear fuel cycle, Rosatom and Engieboth have broadened the range of cooperation in nuclear energy including maintenance and engineering projects, and expanded the scope of projects to new high-technological areas, such as wind energy and efficient management of energy resources.”

The two companies are aiming to jointly improve their nuclear education and training activities and further advance common research and development projects.
