Renewable energy company RP Global has inaugurated its 34.2MW windpark worth €53m in Rudine, Croatia.

The Rudine windpark is the second project of RP Global in Craotia, the first being in Danilo. Between both projects, the company’s total investment in the Croatian market totalled €123m. Both parks are also operated by RP Global.
The windpark at Rudine is in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, 50km from Dubrovnik near the village of Slano. A total of 12 turbines of 2.85MW capacity were installed, supplied by General Electric (GE). Construction started in August 2014, completed in 2015, and commercial operation began at the beginning of this year.
The project was jointly funded by International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Unicredit, which provided €42.5m of the €53m total investment.
RP Global Croatia country manager Bojan Rescec said: "The result of yet another fruitful cooperation with the IFC and Unicredit, Rudine will further push Croatia’s renewable energy agenda and serve the Croatian population by contributing towards the reduction of pollution and dependence on energy imports."

By GlobalDataAlthough Rudine will be RP Global’s last wind project in Croatia, the company aims to take up further projects across the country, including with other renewable technologies, such as photovoltaic solar and small hydropower.
