The energy-efficient power project is situated in the coastal town of Krishnapatnam, Nellore, in Andhra Pradesh. It is equipped with supercritical technology, which brings down the emissions as compared to other conventional coal-fired facilities.

The plant has started supplying electricity to the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after the completion of the first unit, to provide for the growing energy requirements in the southern region.
