German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion has reached a total of 2GW installed power generation capacity in the UK.

The company crossed the 2GW limit with installation of a turbine at the 7.5MW Dunsland Cross onshore windfarm, which is owned by an investment fund advised by Temporis Capital and located in Devon Country, UK.

Senvion's chief executive officer (CEO) Jürgen Geissinger said: “Reaching 2GW installed capacity and leading UK installation figures demonstrate how Senvion remains a key player in the UK wind market.

“The collaborative, customer-focused approach we adopt ensures Senvion products remain competitive and offer ideal solutions to optimise the range of wind conditions across the UK.”

In 2013, the milestone of 1GW installed power generation capacity was reached by Senvion UK. Northern Europe managing director Guy Madgwick said: “We are delighted to reach the historic milestone of 2GW of installed capacity in the UK.

“This is the result of years of dedication and commitment by the Senvion team and it also demonstrates the high-level of repeat business and customer loyalty that we experience.
