Siemens has secured a supply contract for 54MW wind turbines with Esinti Enerji for a project in western Turkey.
Under the contract, the company will supply 17 direct drive wind turbines each with 3.2MW capacity for an onshore windpower plant in the Turkish province of Kinik.

The Siemens SWT-3.2-108 wind turbines will be installed on steel towers with a hub height of 79.5m at the Kinik windfarm.
These turbines with 108m rotor diameters feature direct drive technology with a highly efficient permanent magnet generator.
The D3 wind turbines are claimed to have half as many parts and considerably less moving components, when compared with geared units.
Installation of wind turbines at the windfarm will start mid-2016, with plans to commission them in the third quarter this year.

By GlobalDataSiemens windpower and renewables division CEO onshore Thomas Richterich said: "With a fleet of around 100 wind turbines installed over the last six years, Turkey is becoming more and more important for Siemens."
The Kinik site in the coastal region of western Turkey offers strong wind conditions, as it is located along a mountainous ridge exposed to gusts from the Aegean Sea.
The windfarm reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 100,000t per annum.
The order also includes a ten-year service contract, which requires Siemens to provide advanced remote monitoring and diagnostics at the project.
Since its entry into the Turkish wind market in 2009, Siemens commissioned 235MW of generating capacity, in addition to another 350MW that are already under construction or contracted.
