Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has won a contract to supply 150 G114-2.0MW wind turbines with an overall capacity of 300MW to the Xilinhot complex, which is currently being built in Inner Mongolia, China.
The deal also includes commissioning of the turbines, which will be serviced under a long-term operation and maintenance (O&M) agreement.
Installation of the first batch is expected to begin by Q2, 2018, and the complex is scheduled to be operational by the end of next year.
Siemens Gamesa Asia Pacific CEO Álvaro Bilbao said: “With this significant order, the company has achieved a new milestone in its strategy in China where it has already installed more than 4.6GW.”
Apart from China, SGRE has presence in other Asian countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
The company has installed more than 6.3GW of capacities in these markets so far.
