Swedish state-owned windfarm developer Vattenfall has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Scottish tower steel fabricator CS Wind UK.
The MoU aims to develop co-operation between the companies for future contracts in Scotland and provide opportunities for Vattenfall’s UK development pipeline.

Scotland’s business, innovation, and energy minister Paul Wheelhouse said: "The £27m investment undertaken by CS Wind UK will increase production capacity at the Campbeltown plant and highlights the importance of both onshore and offshore wind sectors to the Scottish economy."
Vattenfall’s UK onshore wind development head Guy Mortimer said: "The Scottish onshore wind sector has grown significantly and made an important economic contribution thanks to continued government support.
"We hope that the offshore sector will follow suit. As a result, major companies like CS Wind UK are making substantial investments in the Scottish economy.
"Vattenfall is developing a number of onshore windfarms in the UK and so we welcome this opportunity to support and co-operate with CS Wind UK and help it continue its Scottish economic success."

By GlobalDataUnder the terms of the deal, Vattenfall will allow CS Wind UK to tender for tower supply contracts on Vattenfall’s future onshore wind power projects.
According to Wheelhouse, agreement between the two companies is expected to open new job opportunities for local people within the community.
