Vestas Wind Systems has signed a contract with Zuma Energía to provide 123 V136-3.45MW turbines for a new 424MW windfarm in Mexico.

The new Parque Eólico Reynosa project will be located in the north-eastern state of Tamaulipas, and is said to be one of the largest projects of its kind in Latin America.

The latest order follows a conditional agreement signed between the two companies regarding the supply of turbines for the Reynosa III project, which has a total capacity of 443MW.

The new order also features a 15-year active output management 5000 (AOM5000) service contract, which will see Vestas delivering and installing the turbines. Delivery is scheduled to begin later this year, while commissioning is expected next year.
