Wind system manufacturer Vestas has won a 106MW wind turbine delivery contract from Gestamp Eólica, a subsidiary of Spain based Gestamp Wind, for five Brazilian wind farms located in Rio Grande do Norte.
Cabeço Preto III, V and VI, and Macambira I and II are the five wind projects to have the turbine installations.

According to the unconditional order, Vestas Wind Systems will provide 53 of its V110-2.0MW models for the projects.
The Danish wind manufacturer will also provide full-scope service for the facilities, including active output management (AOM) 4000 offering for ten years, under the contract.
Turbine deliveries for the facilities are expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2016, following which the projects will be commissioned.
The Cabeço Preto wind development will have a gross annual production capacity of 390GWh. It has been scheduled to start operations by the second quarter of 2016.

By GlobalDataThe Macambira project’s offering of 195GWh in total per year is likely to be commissioned by the third quarter of 2016.
Once operational, the projects will generate enough renewable electricity to meet power requirements of nearly 200,000 residents in the South American country.
Vestas Mediterranean president Marco Graziano said: "This new order strengthens our position in Brazil and proves that the V110-2.0 MW turbine is a very competitive product in this market."
