The deal includes delivery of two 350MW units to the Zhejiang Changlongshan pumped storage power station.

Changlongshan power station is located in Zhejiang Province’s Anji County between the cities of Tianhuangping and Shanchuan.

With a capacity of 2,100MW, this plant has one of the largest capacities among pumped storage plants in China. In addition, with a 710m high head, it is the tallest power station in China and second highest in the world.

The deal also covers strategic cooperation between the two firms in promoting hydropower business in Africa. Voith has been executing hydropower projects since the 1940s and by June this year, it has installed about 10,000MW of capacity in Africa and has already made significant contributions towards the continent’s development.

CTG forayed into Africa 50 years ago and now has more than 300 completed or ongoing projects covering around 30 countries and districts.
