Finland-based technology group Wärtsilä has signed a new cooperation agreement with AW-Energy for the sale and delivery of WaveRoller wave energy technology.

The agreement will see the supply of WaveRoller technology, developed by AW-Energy, on a turnkey basis across the lifecycle.

It is expected to be benefit from AW-Energy’s patented technology and Wärtsilä Energy Solutions’ global project execution, services and integration capabilities.

The latest deal is also expected to focus on project deliveries.

According to Wärtsilä, the commercially operating pilot installations of the WaveRoller technology can be delivered to customers interested in wave power projects.

"The total pipeline under discussions is circa 300MW, including industry flagship projects, spearheading the emerging industry."

The deliveries could lead to the commercial roll-out of the technology.
