Ventyr Energy has selected Worley Rosenberg as preferred contractor for the development of an offshore substation on Sørlige Nordsjø II, Norway’s first significant offshore wind development.
The agreement includes design and engineering work for the offshore substation.

Sørlige Nordsjø II will provide enough renewable electricity to power 500,000 Norwegian households annually.
Worley Rosenberg managing director Jan T Narvestad stated: “The award marks a major milestone for Worley Rosenberg, bringing this strategic offshore wind development to the region.
“With decades of experience, available capacity and strategic location, Worley Rosenberg is uniquely positioned to deliver a high-value contribution to the offshore wind market with the offshore substation.”
The contract represents Worley Rosenberg’s inaugural venture into an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) project specific to offshore substations.

By GlobalDataIn April 2024, the government of Norway entered a contract for difference (CfD) with Ventyr.
Design and engineering work commence in June 2025 and the project is expected to enter the EPCI phase by December.
The execution of this plan will take place within Norway, with support from Worley’s global network.
Ventyr project director Wim Verrept stated: “We are delighted to take the next step in the development of Sørlige Nordsjø II and are very pleased to announce Worley Rosenberg as preferred contractor for the development of the offshore substation on the SNII windfarm in Norway, serving the delivery timeline towards 2031.
“Our goal is to drive positive change through innovation in renewable energy while also generating ripple effects in local communities and across Norway.”
Ventyr is a collaboration between Parkwind, NorSea Group and Ingka Investments.
