Under the new three-year partnership with Albea, Schneider Electric will focus on optimising utility contracts and rates, in addition to standardising risk management.

Albéa corporate social responsibility director Gilles Swyngedauw said: “Our clients are asking for more carbon management transparency from their suppliers, including detailed strategies to reduce consumption and emissions.

“Schneider Electric has provided the guidance and technologies that will allow us to address these dual goals and showcase our industry leadership.”

“We needed an adviser to help meet those demands, as well as our own sustainability targets. Schneider Electric has provided the guidance and technologies that will allow us to address these dual goals and showcase our industry leadership.”

The new partnership builds on earlier energy efficiency-focused efforts, which helped Albéa meet its 15% reduction goal.

Schneider Electric energy and sustainability services senior vice-president Steve Wilhite said: “Organisations are starting to integrate how they buy and use energy with sustainability initiatives to see additional benefits such as increased efficiency, financial savings and more sustainable operations.

“When these efforts converge into a single global programme, companies can uncover new opportunities and drive even greater savings. We are proud to partner with Albéa on its Active Energy Management journey.”

Schneider Electric also previously helped Albea to improve CDP reporting, which resulted in improving company ratings from C to B.

The addition of a company-wide energy procurement programme enabled the French packaging company to manage strategies, data and resources needed to reduce consumption and maximise savings, a practice known as Active Energy Management.
