German offshore wind farm developer Skyborn Renewables has finalised contracts for all major components of the Gennaker offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
The company has signed preferred supply agreements (PSAs) for the provision of monopile foundations and transition pieces, which are essential for the project’s progression.

EEW Special Pipe Construction (EEW SPC) has been contracted to deliver 63 monopile foundations, each measuring up to 54.1m in length, with a top diameter of 7.5m and a weight of up to 877 tonnes (t).
The monopiles will be produced in Rostock, situated approximately 40km from the Gennaker site, thereby enhancing the local supply chain and supporting employment at EEW SPC, which has a workforce of around 1,000.
Dajin Heavy Industry has been selected to supply 63 transition pieces, each about 20m tall and weighing approximately 400t.
The transition pieces will be manufactured in Penglai, China, and final assembly will be done in Odense, Denmark.

By GlobalDataSkyborn has also signed a PSA with Seaway7 for the transportation and installation of the monopiles and transition pieces.
Additionally, a contract has been awarded to a consortium of Boskalis and TKF for the supply and installation of around 140km of inter-array cables, which will be manufactured in Eemshaven, Netherlands.
These agreements follow previous announcements regarding turbine supply and long-term service arrangements with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, as well as transport and installation services with Fred. Olsen Windcarrier.
The Gennaker project, with a planned capacity of up to 976.5MW, is claimed to become the largest offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
It is located approximately 15km north of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula, within a designated priority zone for offshore wind energy in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern coastal sea.
Skyborn obtained the initial building permit for the Gennaker site in May 2019 and retains site exclusivity for its development. The project is scheduled for commissioning in 2028.
