Enel Green Power España (EGPE), a renewable energy division of utility company Endesa, has begun construction of three Spanish solar plants with a combined capacity of around 127MW.

The three solar facilities at Navalvillar, Valdecaballero and Castilblanco, being built with an investment of nearly €100m, will have an installed capacity of more than 42MW each.

Once fully operational, these facilities will be able to generate approximately 250GWh per year and also help in cutting down more than 165,000 tonnes of carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

The solar parks will be part of the seven solar projects, totalling 339MW, that were awarded to EGPE during the third renewable energy auction held by the Spanish Government in July last year.

The other projects that were awarded to EGPE include Totana in Murcia, and three PV parks in Extremadura, Logrosán, and Cáceres.
